Blood type
4 test tubes containing serum
  • labelled A, B, AB, O (AB should give a precipitate with the blood)
A sample of fake blood
A spotting tile

Main activities
<1. Students are asked to identify the blood type of the sample taken from the crime scene. Students may need to be reminded that Spencer is known to have the same blood type as his brother. See S_S_HT_5. Students make a note of evidence in the analysis booklet.
2. Students fingerprint their group so a class set of fingerprints is obtained. See S_S_HT_6. Class work together to determine who's fingerprint was lifted in lesson
3. The student whos fingerprint it is can be identified as one of the suspects. The suspect whos fingerprint it is can be Spencers brother (Lincoln Clarke), the journalist (Linda Cunningham) or Spencers team mate (Dale Winter) as all of these suspects had reason to be in Spencers accommodation.>
