| Instructions on what to do 1. Each team will be introduced to design specs and how to write them. Teams will be filling in their specs worksheet based on the research carried out so far (range of materials, nets). 2. Teams will then start designing initial ideas. This should be done as a 10/15 minutes exercise during which the students quick draw black and white sketches. These have to be based on the research carried out so far and the shape of the nets they discussed in Maths. Each member of the team has a role. the Project Manager will be asked to oversee the team's work by coordinating what needs to be done and helping out when necessary The Product Designer in charge of designing bins and lids will concentrate sketching ideas based on nets. The Product Designer in charge of designing the bin station will come up with solutions to store the bins in, looking at how the bins are taken out to empty and then replaced. The Graphic Designer will look at symbols for recycling a range of waste (glass, metal, plastic and paper) and the Olympics logo. Allow teams to discuss and agree on final idea. 3. Teams to make a card model of their final idea. The Project Manager will have to liaise between all team members to make sure that all components fit together. |
